In this series of life drawings, I wanted to explore how the figure relates to the edges of the picture plane — how much can be implied, abbreviated or cropped whilst the essential presence of the body remains. Using brush pen and water on cartridge paper, the fluid, minimal line work allowed me to suggest form and movement with the greatest economy of means. The three pieces work individually but resonate most strongly together.
