In this illustration, I set out to reimagine the iconic 1787 portrait of Robert Burns through a modern typographic lens. By weaving his most celebrated quotes into the contours of his likeness — his words filling his hair, his chest, his very presence — I wanted to bring his wordsmithing genius to life. The result is a portrait literally composed of the poet's own voice, set against a warm parchment ground of ghosted script.
