This playful print captures the irresistible curiosity of a cat peering around a corner, one paw gripping the edge above and below. I wanted the bold solid red rectangle to provide a sharp, graphic counterpoint to the fine expressive mark-making of the cat's face and whiskers , the radiating lines giving the composition an almost cartoon-like energy. Printed using a traditional jigsaw lino cut technique on Japanese Ho Sho paper, it is one of a second limited edition of five original hand-printed works.
